Colleagues may be interested in UKRI’s Designed for Ageing competition briefing next week, on Tuesday, 21 September (15:00–17:30). This is part of its Healthy ageing challenge work. This follows on from our application to the Mayor of London’s Designing London’s Recovery programme.
The competition is a ‘grant funding opportunity for UK companies looking to develop innovations to help people as they age’, in collaboration with the The Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design’s (@HHCDesign) Design Age Institute (@DesignAge_) and Housing LIN (@HLINComms). Up to £2m in grants is available, for a project over two years using a ‘design stage gate’ model, as with Designing London’s Recovery. The closing date for bids is 17 November.
I have booked for the briefing and hope to see some colleagues there? This is the timetable. (Feel free to RT my Tweet on it.)

Following on from the briefing will be an online Collaboration Club, hosted on Meeting Mojo, which they describe as ‘an opportunity to connect to potential collaborative partners’. I have access to this already and it looks interesting.
I am planning a conference call to bring together people interested in the themes of ageing, innovation, and social technologies to see what we can initiate. If you would like to take part in this 45-minute call, please complete this poll for Tue 28/Wed 29/Thu 30 September, using the ‘Yes, if need be’ option.
